Eric & Claire: Not a Fan of Either Characters

This is one of those books that gives you a very interesting book blurb and you find out that you were totally misled. Even the title is deceiving.

In short, Eric shows up at Claire's door, busts in and he tells her that she is his fated mate and he is going to take her to his castle and mate with her. Apparently, Claire is a breeder. A rare woman who is able to mate with a vampire and produce pureblood vampire children. This is a hot commodity among the vampire race and its open season on Claire's nether regions as everyone is eager to impregnate her. Eric tries his best to keep Claire safe until he can officially make her his mate.

There was so much of absolutely nothing going on in this book. I was waiting for more plot to develop and the only thing that was on and popping was the various ways that Eric and Claire could be intimate without having intercourse, as her body wasn't "ready" yet to be claimed. There was so much anal action in here that my arse began to hurt. Ironically, the one pivotal scene where he actually does have intercourse with Claire, the scene was uneventful. Go figure.

The plot was weak... the characters were dull... and the one character that had the most potential to make the book interesting had one scene. This was truly a waste of my time. I'm not giving up on the series and will move on to book two. If that book wields the same results, I'm calling it on this series.

Happy reading!
