Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance by Ruth Emmie Lang
4.0
I found this book very perplexing. I know I enjoyed it. I can tell you that right now. But I almost can’t pinpoint why. To be honest, the climax wasn’t super excited. And the moments that I would have expected to be mind blowing, were rather subdued.
But somehow, that’s the charm of this book. The characters are real. The lives that they lead are familiar. And Weylyn, a boy/man who is fated to be extraordinary, blows through their boring lives. He sees their plain existences like a child looking through the window of a candy shop.
There is something magical about this book that makes it feel close and comforting in a bizarrely inexplicable way.
I enjoyed my time with Weylyn and his family.
