*from notion archive* I truly cannot believe I have finally read this book, it feels like ages since I heard about this book. It truly lived up to expectation. It was poetic, emotive and a true work of art. Yes i did cry (a lot) at the end. The profound bond between Achilles and Pretrolocus was so evident and so wonderfully written. The language and the way that Madaline Miller uses it is stunning. The eloquence helped to add authenticity to the book. The greek setting was well done and the environment and culture (especially the less desirable parts) were carefully handled. Whilst restrained by the original plot, there still managed to be moments of calm reflection. I loved the part in the training montage and the moments of quiet intimacy In conclusion I love the book and Achilles and Petrolocus have found a special place in my heart. Also he bought him figs awwwwww
