A wonderfully dark series, the second brings out more character personality and relationships. It was interesting to see the dynamic between Ava and Luc go through the strains of life through different perspectives.
Each crime is painted out in a believable but not over the top detail.
I do recommend taking breaks after any of the darker scenes. It can be a bit heavy from time to time. But that's what makes it a fun murder mystery book.
