The Incubus King by Ava Scott Morgan, Ava Scott Morgan
2.0
Weston & Aynslee: They Could Have Been Epic...
This is the type of book that has the makings of an awesome fated mates story. The characters really pulled me in; the plot did as well. However, the author failed to truly deliver this story to the reader to do any justice to the plot. This book could have been a more enjoyable read.
Weston is an Incubus who was banished from their land after it was destroyed by creatures from another realm. Forced to hide in plain sight, he and his brothers are living in Texas doing manual labor. Its then he meets Aynslee, a young woman who has survived most of her life on her own. Being an Incubus, Weston is drawn to Ainslee and her, him. What Weston doesn't know is that there is more to Aynslee that meets the eye and both of their lives are changed forever.
There were some sweet moments in this book, and I think the author could have made this book so much better. This is the first time where I feel an author wasn't descriptive enough. Too many details weren't included in the story and the characters, thought endearing, were cardboard cut outs. They had no depth. The only reason why I am giving this book a two and not a one is because the plot was good, but the story didn't do it justice. I cannot recommend in good conscious recommend this book. If you still choose to, I am confident that you will agree that it could have been more.
Hapy reading!
