I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, and as a major V.E. Schwab fan, this was the best way to start 2022. This book is EXCELLENT.
Richly atmospheric, and full of complex, multi-faceted characters, Gallant was perfectly spooky. It gave me Coraline vibes in the best way.
The setting for this story is incredibly immersive, Olivia is deeply compelling, and all the side characters in this story are rich and fleshed out. The plot of the story is original and dark and hopeful, and the visual components of this book make the story so powerful.
I would HIGHLY recommend this book if you’re a fan of V.E. Schwab, if you’re looking for an atmospheric, slightly spooky story, or if you just want to read a story with an incredible main character and atmospheric setting.
