Beatrice and the flitting fairies glowing like fireflies got me to pick the book up in the first place (The cover is gorgeous). The charming dedication and curious cast list made me realize that I'd found something a little bit different. And the hair dye and fairies hooked me.

I loved pretty much everything about the book. The descriptive language, the peculiar yet cozy theatre world, the fairies, Beatrice. All the characters felt real, felt alive, but Bertie was my favorite. Stubborn and friendly, teenagerish and uncertain, all wrapped up in blue hair and bravado.

The other thing that made this book so appealing, was the way life in the theatre world unfolded: slow, almost delicate, with just enough mystery to keep you wondering and no blatantly frustrating gaps to get you irritated. Now I want to live in the world behind the curtains. It sounds like so much fun!
