Again, I felt a pressurized strain on my chest, like it was difficult to breathe. I couldn’t quite understand at first, then it hit me. This was what a loving family looked like. This was what I’d never had and always longed for. I rubbed the center of my chest as I surveyed the scene.
god where do i fucking start. i guess with saying this is one of my favorite romance novels that i’ve ever read. def top 10. like fuck. that was so beautiful. this is less an enemies to lovers and more of a… frenemies. i would say ruben and jules would be a true enemies to lovers im guessing ;)
gareth and livvy’s relationship is just so fucking perfect it hurts my heart. it starts with the physical attraction and then it grew into learning to love and even more so, trust. both of these people (or beings idk)
have a thing with trust in different ways. with livvy it’s about surrendering herself to gareth and putting that trust in him to not hurt her in any way; for gareth it’s about learning to open his heart up to livvy and honestly… the rest of her sisters/family. he hesitates a lot but eventually he gives in :)
this is a spoiler but like, a light one it’s just something that happens between them i wanted to comment on
also the smut in this book goes absolutely crazy 10/10
“We’ve all got a monster inside us, Gareth. That’s nothing new. It’s just how you use it that matters.”
