very disappointed even early on in the book. the author, despite claiming to explore gender expression, never mentions trans people. shes also declares that shes "not a dyke" without examining how her life as a straight woman differs from gay people. really thought that this would be a youthful mistake cleared up later on in the book but it never was. really disliked this book.
