I kept thinking this book couldn’t possibly twist my heart again, and then it would in a completely new way. To say this book is sad is reductive- it is an elegy to loss, grief, but also hope.

The empathy and care Nagamatsu puts into every word is stunning. Feeling somewhere between Station Eleven and Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, this book is equally devastating, inspiring, and beautiful.
