King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
5.0
I am at a loss for words
⚠️WARNING⚠️
No spoilers for King of Scars but there will be spoilers for the Grisha trilogy, though no major ones for Six of Crows, but still please be wary if you haven’t read the previous Grishaverse books.
This book was amazing.
King of Scars is set three years after the events of Ruin and Rising, after the shadow fold was destroyed when Alina killed the Darkling, and a year (or slightly less than) after Six of Crows. I did thoroughly enjoy the Grisha trilogy but Six of Crows was something else entirely. Six of Crows is honestly one of the best fantasy books I’ve ever read.
This book follows Zoya and Nikolai from the Grisha trilogy, among other characters. It also follows Nina from Six of Crows. We get plenty of familiar faces, Genya, David, Tolya, Tamar, Adrik ect. I loved Nikolai in the Grisha trilogy but somehow my love for him has multiplied. I didn’t really like Zoya in the Grisha trilogy
