Beautiful writing. I really wanted to love this book but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. I enjoyed that the author didn’t waste time explaining every little detail of the world building to us, but it meant I spent the first 60 pages getting violently ripped out of the story telling every time I had to pause and really focus on if the odd word presented was a person, place, or thing. Once I finally settled in I found the story to move too slow for my tastes. If you’re a more patient person than me you’ll love this book- a story that tries the answer the question “if you did bad things for the right reason are you truly corrupt?” While exploring love as redemption.
