Fabulous end to the series. There's a lot that I liked, particularly seeing new sides of characters or aspects of them that didn't get to shine as much in the past. And there was a lot of tension and emotional moments I enjoyed. The scenes between Ty and
Kal's sister Saedii
was really nuanced and well-handled - the writing here seriously impressed me. There's some inherent power imbalances there that make that sort of relationship hard to do well, and I thought their dialogue felt really realistic and their fights felt real and not just conflict for the sake of conflict. My thoughts on the ending:
I was expecting there to be more sacrifice required for the ending, and there is some but I kinda wish there was a little more. Not that I want people dying! But the lead up made me expect something more dire.
All in all, loved the ride.
