The Bastard and the Heir by Eden Finley, Saxon James

3.0

3.5/5. This was fun. I loved getting to know Darcy more than we have in past books as well as seeing Remi. Darcy is a workaholic, but he's also sensitive and kind. Wren is much more down to earth and carefree. I enjoyed the beginning where Wren was figuring things out and getting to know his brothers. I also enjoyed Wren and Darcy both struggling with their feelings for each other without knowing the other was feeling the same. The added element of being half brothers added a huge and unique complication. I didn't fully understand the importance of everything staying in the family and having heirs and what not, but Darcy made me believe it was important, so I went with it. I also don't feel like I got to see enough of these two actually falling in love. I felt like we saw some pining then all of the sudden it was love. Also, I don't really get why Wren's dad chose Darcy's mom. They never really explained it. I did like how they balanced each other and made each other better people. Oh and Wren getting to know Jr and Tobias was sweet.

Notes: 2/5 spice levels, step/half brothers, construction/CEO, coworkers, enemies to lovers?, financial differences, forbidden
