The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler
3.0
an interesting plot line that reeled me in quick - I wanted to quit the book at the start because it seemed like I wouldn’t enjoy it. I did start to enjoy it eventually quite a bit, midway through the book. it was well paced with a cast of interesting characters.
might’ve given 4 stars if not for the weird male power fantasies of refusing women that desperately want to sleep with them. and underage infantile sexualised girls who hiss (???) when upset and suck their thumbs. and men who only hydrate on whiskey. but I might be asking too much of a book written in 1939
