This is a solid 3.5 stars. The story starts off well and I was invested in Gabe's search for his daughter. The reason it didn't get 4 stars was because of the paranormal subplot that's contrived and far-fetched. It didn't take up a lot of the book, but was really convenient took me out of the story. It really didn't need to be there.
