Becoming Abolitionists: Police, Protests, and the Pursuit of Freedom by Derecka Purnell

challenging hopeful informative inspiring reflective slow-paced

5.0

I really wish I had words for how incredible this book is. All I can really say is that don’t go in without a pencil or whatever you use to take notes. I can count on one hand (maaaybe two) the number of pages that escaped without brackets, or underlines or highlights.

Derecka hit on every major question/issue with abolition one could have and then elaborated on it. I will absolutely be revisiting and recommending this book for a good long while - and most definitely dragging friends into buddy reads with me!

Outstanding.
