Housebroken: Admissions of an Untidy Life by Laurie Notaro
4.0
I enjoyed this quite a lot! Sometimes books of essays try way too hard to be funny or quirky or self-deprecating but this hit all the right notes without seeming too forced. I liked how it seemed fairly realistic, in a "oh of course this ridiculous thing would only happen to me" sort of way. It also made me feel better about myself- both in a "oh thank god, someone else struggles with being an adult too" and "oh thank god, I've never done that before, maybe I'm a better adult than I give myself credit for" type of way. Laurie Notaro seems like a lot of fun and I can't wait to read more of her books in the future!
