Who knew I'd love a small town romance with a professional bull rider so dang much?! Rhett is a professional bull rider who's made a few mistakes nearly costing him everything. His agent says he's got to clean up his image, so he's sicked his daughter, Summer, on Rhett for the rest of the bull-riding season as supervision. There's one stipulation, Rhett has to keep his hands off Summer... and that's going to be harder than it first seems.

Okay, sign me up for this whole series. This book alone has entirely won me over to anything Elsie Silver intends to write.

Rhett and Summer are two characters whom I quickly fell in love with. They're both so down-to-earth and relatable. The dual POV was immaculate, reeling me in and keeping me right where I wanted to be. The dynamic between Rhett and Summer is impeccable. Their banter and shared dialogue had me smiling like a goof and snickering as I read.

Elsie's writing style is so smooth and easy to follow. She effortlessly weaves a compelling story filled with angst and tension while avoiding a deep dive into pure spice territory. The romance is well orchestrated and the prime focus is not on the spicy scenes - which I absolutely adore and wholeheartedly appreciate. That being said, Elsie did not miss out with the spice - chapters 21 and 22 are HOT. Rhett is an entirely swoon-worthy cowboy that I'll have trouble forgetting anytime soon.

The ending was just the right touch with an epilogue that made for the perfect closing to this story. I am thoroughly impressed with Elsie's writing here and cannot wait to read the next in the Chestnut Springs series, Heartless!
