Charlie's simple and profound character drew me in immediately. Not your typical teen drama. There is definitely something different about this story. Not so much in the plot ... teen love and angst is quite abundant here. However, there is an underlying depth into that adolescent on the brink of adulthood that is so pure and the author is so smart to have recognized that. Beautifully written. Now, to see the movie!
