2.0

This was touted as being reminiscent of The Great Gatsby and The Tempest. It was neither.

The author spent a lot of time building a beautiful world but not a lot of time with character development or relationships.

The basics are there but it ends up being about a bitter dim-witted girl who just wants magic. Magic magic magic. There’s not much detail about why or what makes magic cool but apparently a lot of the family members hate each other for a variety of named (or unnamed) reasons. Everyone is selfish and vapid.

Would not recommend.
