The Selection by Kiera Cass

5.0

5/4/12: I just love Maxon and America's friendship and building relationship, they're so cute

I loved this book! I read it because A) pretty cover, B) sounded interesting, and C) the CW is still planning The Selection tv show and I like to read the books before I see the show/movie just so I have a general idea of what's going on.

The first chapter and a half was boring but it really started to pick up for me after they really started talking about The Selection. At first I was all Aspen's pretty awesome until he became a coward and a man. But Maxon overshadowed him once he showed up. I was so drooling over him the whole time. I swear if I was America in this book everyone would have known everything I did with him because I'd be madly giggling and blushing whenever he hinted at something. He has a lot of good attributes to him. I really liked Marlee and really want to know what's up with her towards the end, I have my suspicions but I need to know! She's just so likeable. I liked how America was honest with Maxon about why she was there and how she was doing this to help her family. I really liked their budding friendship too.

I really liked this book and think you should actually try reading it before judging it.

*2nd time around and I still love it although I think I fell even more in love with Maxon.
