Obviously this is another 5-Star masterpiece from my favorite author duo. I’m beginning to wonder if Samgel is somehow dreamwalking into my mind and plucking out my deepest and darkest fantasies. Like, it’s disturbing how much I love these walking red flags that they call men lmao 😭🤣

But seriously, in this second book, the Prince’s have begun to evolve. They’ve realized that the stakes are high and that they’re not willing to lose Verity or the baby any longer. It’s so f*cking sweet watching them grow from hurt, defensive boys with a deep trauma bond to (slightly more lol) considerate, nurturing men. Seeing them slowly learn to hear Verity and not simply see her as object, as a vessel, it warmed my HEART. I love them so much. This is the first time in a Forsyth trio that I truly love all of the guys equally, I REFUSE to pick a favorite. Pace’s possession, his need to be inside her and hold her and CLAIM her. Amazing. Wicker’s inability to turn the sexuality off 🥵, his journey from feeling betrayed by Verity’s actions in PoC to wanting her in his inner circle was so tender. There were moments I wanted to smack him, but aren’t there always, with all of them? And Lex, ugh he was by far the sweetest imo. His immediate switch to Daddy Lex was so hot. His flirting? Swoon. His hair down? Swoon. The ties these three have brings tears to my eyes, unlike any of the Lords or Dukes. These three know each inside and out, in such a monumental way, and to let someone else into that? It’s huge. I love being witness. And the questions regarding all of their history and why they specifically are Ashby’s adopted boys? I NEED TO KNOWWWWW. Samgel has me sweating.

Verity MF Sinclair!!! This woman is so deserving of the title Queen. She endured so much in PoC, and the punches do not stop in this book. She has to learn, now more than ever with a baby to consider, how to navigate the barbs and thorns that threaten her in the Palace. Her “Father” (ugh I hate it), King Ashby is so twisted. She knows she can’t let him get his hands on her child, because he’d only sink his claws in like her Princes. I felt for her, truly, I think she has it the worst out of our Royal women so far. And these men don’t make it easy to forgive, but she deserves love & I know they have so much to give her. Mama Verity is going to blow this Palace to the ground, I can’t my waiiiiit. It’s a pleasure to watch her slowly undermine them all, and after that ending? Ugh JUST GETTING STARTED!

UGH that one scene, with.. all four.. of them.. will invade my dreams regularly. No shame. The spice, as always, is phenomenal. I like, gain a new k*nk every book. I don’t know how tf they do it 😮‍💨🫣

Also as a Dukes girlie, and a Nick Bruin aficionado, I have to say, even as a side character he is so mf lovable. He manages to be so menacingly hot, even in short bursts. lol, the other cameo’s were wonderful as usual too. It’s incredible how Samgel can weave such an intricate world, tying strings together across books, and still get better with each other! I’m continually impressed.
