Into the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes

The only mystery here is how a thing like this could ever get published. At the beginning I thought there must be something wrong with me because not even 50 pages in, I found this sort of “story” dull and inane (not to mention I’ve read fanfictions that were written better than this), but there were so many 5-star reviews so certainly this was bound to get better, right? Haha. That didn’t happen. So anyway, we are presented with the story of how the female person (it would be insulting to other literary characters to call her a “heroine” or whatever) comes to meet the male walking-cliché but not after many, many, maaany completely unnecessary chapters where the female person does mundane things I don’t know how someone could ever think they would interest the reader or add to the story or anything. Pointless. I don’t even wanna comment on how the events unfold because other well-thought one-star reviews brilliantly explained them. I just wanna say, please don’t read this. You don’t deserve such pain and disappoint in your life. Mine was enough really.
