I disagree with other reviewers this has a slow pace. I found it to slowly unfurl, continuously picking up the pace. It kept me guessing what was happening the whole way. The setting of Sri Lanka's elite is lush and vibrant, interesting and well done. Everything is woven together really well and I really liked the emphasis on female friendships. It definitely doesn't try and push one person as being right and one as wrong. I liked that everyone was flawed. Some were certainly worse than others but I really do not need a thriller to be teaching me a lesson. This story of rich people making mistakes and it's thoroughly twisty enough to be enjoyable.
