Towers of Midnight: Book Thirteen of the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson
5.0
The book had some pretty amazing scenes, especially with Mat and Perrin. There were moments with pretty much every character that I loved, but especially Mat, Perrin and Nynaeve. Another great thing was the chance to really see how much all of the main characters have changed from The Eye of the World. They've been changing throughout the series, but some callbacks to the first book and the payoff of certain things that were set-up really bring those changes to light. The end of this book completely blew me away and the last four/five chapters were fantastic.
I wasn't a fan of how much of the conflict between certain characters in this book was based on bad communication. I could see the purpose of it, but miscommunication as a trope annoys me. There were also a few scenes where Egwene came off as incredibly annoying to me. Elayne is kind of in the same boat for me.
So much of this book was setting up the Last Battle and I am completely hyped to finish the series.
