This was so fun to read.

Very easily got into the story, the world and the characters. Danielle writes fantastic prose and dialogue, with witty and clever characters who you instantly click with.

Norse mythology is one of my guilty pleasures, and because of this I just ate up this story. I adored the aspect of magic coming from varying gods and them being “unfated” due to this connection.

Freya is a strong willed FMC, with her flaw being her love for her family (who IMO don’t deserve her love!). I enjoyed every page of her learning about herself, her magic and her destiny. But most of all, I loved every second of her yearning after Bjorn (*swoons*) and him yearning right back. What is it with the forbidden love trope that absolutely sucks me in? I LOVE IT.

In the end I guessed the twist at the end, but this in no way spoiled the ending for me. I have so many thoughts and predictions for book two and I am very eager for its release already!
