The Immortals by S.M. Schmitz

4.0

I really enjoyed this book. It moved at a slower pace than most of the UF I have read, but it still kept me interested. I liked the fact that the author revealed the main characters background in flashbacks instead of spending time authors the beginning just explaining things. I loved the way that angels were portrayed as secretive and not being able to influence the world around them outright. It felt more honest and true somehow. Demons are evil, and as such they create havoc. Angels are good, and fighting and killing demons would make them bad. I even loved the cliffhanger ending. The author picked the perfect place to end the story and have it pick up in the next book. I loved how the violence wasn't described in gory detail, and neither were the few sex scenes. I can't wait to move on to book 2!
