Unearthly by Cynthia Hand
5.0
This book deserves a keysmash...in a goodway. So here we go! Asfdjbaglkjsfdhgjdhjvbalkjdbkvjabe!!!!!!! This book was amazing! Definitely one of my favorites of the year, most definitely my favorite of the month.
I've only read two other angel type books (Fallen and Immortal City, I believe...) which I liked both, although Fallen was a bit all over the place. But Unearthly was different from both of those. I liked how Clara already knew some of what being an angel meant and I was just as frustrated as Clara when her mom was being all tight-lipped.
The relationships in this book were really good too. Surprisingly, I haven't read a real good sibling relationship and I loved Clara and Jeffery's. Clara's friendships with Wendy and Angela were good too and different from each other. I kind of hope they can all be friends and that Wendy will get to know the angel secret but at the same time Angela's got a dang secret and I'm just like oh no.
Ah! And the guys! When I started this book I was thinking I was going to like Christian more. Reading the dust jacket I came to his name and was just like okay Christian I love your name, you're going to be my #1 but then I continued on and read something about another guy and still I thought I was going to love Christian the most but then I read Tucker's name. Lets just start off with the fact that there was this totally hot senior named Tucker at my school when I was a freshman and I was like in love with him so I already had a thing going for Tuckers. Was reading the book and Tucker stole my heart faster than you can say "Hey Christian". Sorry Christian, I still think you're cool and we can totally be friends but my heart lies with Tuck.
Him and Clara were so freaking cute and adorable together and FEELS! I just really need the next two books! Which are coming to me for my birthday cause I just ordered them today!
