Oh boy was this one was disappointing. I've enjoyed this series so far, and I thought that books 2 and 3 were very good.
I just didn't care about the plot or characters of this book. I feel like this entire book could not exist and things wouldn't change at all in this series. If you had told me this was about a group of people exploring a new planet with a 'wild west' vibe and the ruins of a long extinct alien civilization, I would've been super excited. But for some reason, this book just wasn't it for me. I'm going to continue this series, since I enjoyed books 1-3 so much, and I hope this was just a one-off thing. Oh well, we can't love all the books we read.
