Halloween Haunt by Harley Laroux
5.0
I said it once, and I will say it again.
I don't like Halloween. Never did, never will.
But this book...
I feel personally attacked by it because it plays with the fact that its plot revolves around something I hate.
I don't know if people who aren't samhainophobic (or scared of things that are part of the horror genre) are going to get that hot and bothered by the aspect of fear play, but the scenic descriptions in this book were giving me chills, and I definitely heard some creepy music playing in my head, so I felt like I was Dahlia - but way more scared.
And Rafa ... I don't know how Harley does it, but I love how she can make a man who still cares for a woman's consent this ... I don't even know. He kind of infuriates me with the way he deals with Dahlia because you can tell he likes toying around as much as she does.
I like men who can be "casually kinky" but then, when you push the right buttons by saying or doing something and you can immediately tell that you fucked up by the way they react.
Rafa is definitely one of those men and boy, I could tell he knows how to handle a brat - and yes, in my eyes, that's definitely something Dahlia is. You can tell from the beginning of the story that she has one goal, which is to get into Rafa's pants, and will stop at nothing to get it.
I like how Rafa compliments her behavior with his because you can tell he has the experience, and you can tell he can be patient with people.
Granted, though, if you're not into being degraded, scared, or using Daddy as an honorary, then maybe this book isn't for you.
