The Road by Cormac McCarthy
5.0
Beautiful. Vivid. Tragic. Sad. Uplifting, somehow. I could barely put this down, changed plans at least once so as to get back into it. And as a slow reader in general, got through it speedily.
This one's going to stick with me for quite some time. I love how it was written, with little punctuation and no quote marks for the dialogue and no names for the Man and Boy.
Eager to watch the film version next, and thrilled/relieved that I read the book first. Bracing for the movie and a couple key visuals. I also want to read No Country for Old Men, a copy of which I've had for years, and hope having seen the movie that I love a couple times, the reading pleasure won't be spoiled.
