Opium Skies by C.M. Radcliff

4.0

Warning - this book is a very real and raw look at young love, lust, and life set against a backdrop of partying and addiction. It's very emotional and painful yet awe inspiring and unbelievably good. As someone who spent most of her late teens and early twenties loving an addict, it brought back a lot of memories, both those I cherish and ones I'd like to forget. But I cannot forget the characters in this book because Hadley and Ander could literally be your BFFs from high school or college. The author is very open and honest with the way she writes the very graphic scenes in this book, but it's honestly what a book like this needs. She doesn't sugarcoat and she definitely doesn't fluff anything to make things seem prettier than they are. Be prepared to feel things when you read this book! It's a 5 star read right up to the very end!
