Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr

This was a tough one to rate, because some parts were a 5 star story while others were a 3. I loved All The Light We Cannot See and I consider it a favorite, however, I don't think this book holds up quite as much. This book was huge in its scope and narrative, having around 6 different characters/storylines that we follow. It also follows a large range of time, from the 15th century into the far future. At some points, I thought the story was a little too broad, and there were two povs that I did not care much for.
However, this book had me hooked, and I read it in about 48 hours. I really enjoyed the other povs and I found the overall narrative and underlying connection between all of the characters fascinating and very rewarding. This is a book that tries to encompass a lot, and feels like many different genres meshed into one book. This is a book that I could see myself rereading at one point, to take my time with it and marvel at all the little things I missed the first time. I flew through this book, and there was definitely things that I missed or didn't appreciate. I have a feeling that the audiobook for this would be great too.
