The Beauty in Breaking: A Memoir by Michele Harper

4.0

The people that read this book and got upset on her commentary of social issues, more specifically black issues, either aren’t black or aren’t able to have legitimate empathy for people who are. I thought the book was very well written. I enjoyed the voice of her writing. It felt familiar to me— if that makes sense. I enjoyed the lessons she learned. Additionally, I could understand her frustration with the hospital leaving a position empty rather than let her, someone who who was highly qualified, take on the position.
