The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean

This book started off so strong imo. I loved the genre mix of Fantasy and Horror, as well as Historical Fiction. The plot was a bit slow going and sadly ended up as if the author needed to wrap up the story as fast as possible, leaving a lot of plotholes right out in the open. I don't think this will be a series but with that ending and so many questions left unanswered, I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being a duology at some point.
I thought this was going to be a new favorite but the plot bugged me a little bit and the romance also left much to be desired (even for a book that was not heavy on romance, the romance was seriously lacking in development and honestly chemistry...)
