Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo

4.0

This is my good friend's favorite book and I rarely give recommendations a shot. But the moment he told me about how this book does not only resonate on the First World War intrigued me. It circles around the different characters which were very well-written. I really find the first pages of every new chapter to be such a pretty little sprinkle that the author adds to the whole story. I would have given this a 5 star BUT, I felt as though it lacked a tad of plot? I think this book was character-driven instead of plot-driven. Really enjoyed it, and would definitely touch more of Michael Morpurgo's books in the future.
