Call Me by Your Name by André Aciman
5.0
5+ Stars. I listened to this after I read the movie, which follows the book nearly exactly until the end. The book is more philosophical and contains more (and longer) monologues and rambling descriptions, and is all the better for it. However, they would have clearly slowed the film and I was happy with the compromises made. The other biggest difference is that the book puts you deep into Elio’s thoughts... which means you’re in a teenage boy’s head... and all that comes with that. If anything, it makes it all the more painful. Armie is a mesmerizing narrator - kind of want him to read everything to me.
