Tokyo Ghoul: re, Vol. 9 by Sui Ishida

4.0

This whole thing is just fights on Rushima - and it really feels like every single ghoul and investigator showed up on that one island. Can be really confusing, but I do think there were some really good combinations and shifting battle lines. I'm speaking, of course, of Takizawa, Akira, Amon, and Yonebayashi.

Amon, though. The fact that
Spoilerhe's still inspired by Kaneki's compassion now that he's a ghoul himself
, and the way
Spoilerhe reveals himself to save Akira
- and how she in turn
Spoilersaves Takizawa
? Delicious.

It's also really interesting to see how much Urie has grown as a commander and, well, as a person. He’s very well-versed in battle formations and he clearly cares about his squad, not just promotions. Good going, dude.
