Positives

I think the concept of a 1950s housewife who moonlights as an assassin is entertaining and intriguing. The art style is also very fun for the time period. I especially enjoyed the classic ads (but with a twist). This collection is pretty self-contained, which I also appreciated.

Negatives

My perspective might be skewed by the foreword, but the feminism that underpins the work does feel very 2015. I appreciate that we have a woman who can “be an assassin like a man” or be violent like a man, but who genuinely cares for her children. I just wished we got to see more of Josephine interacting with and actually enjoying her normal life. For most of the collection, they are mostly distractions from her work or obstacles for getting her work done.
