Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

3.0

Not the best Austen I've read, though I appreciated how the start of the (way too long) intro explained the context of how the story was written and the publishing obstacles it faced.

Even though it's was published posthumously, it was probably Austen's earliest work. It shows. She has a more masterful grasp on her art in her other books imo.

I did like the main character however, and I liked the whole Thorpe family drama as well.
