I recently finished reading "Gaelic Mettle: The Olden Chronicles," which is the third installment in the Shattered Steel series. The previous book left me feeling quite anxious due to the changes that occurred, but I was happy to see that the characters mature and develop throughout the series. Tristan has to return to the Highlands estate, and Catherine must learn how to become a duchess. 

I appreciate how the characters maintain their roots while also evolving. Their interactions with one another, their banter, loyalty, and passion are admirable. The themes of mental health, death, and grief are prominent throughout this part of the series, but the author handles them with care, not overwhelming the reader with too much information.
