Half fae, half human Scarlett, (aptly named Red) is a Finance major in school and works at a bar, the Poison Apple with her friends Cinder and Goldie. Trying to get away from the fame and magic surrounding her famous grandmother, who is considered the Martha Stewart of the fae world, she tries to blend in with humans and lead an ordinary life. Until she is summoned by her grandmother to visit after she gets crap about staying away too long. Upon her arrival, she finds her grandma, "Gigi" missing and a strange man in her house, a Wolf-Shifter named Brexley who claims to be her grandmother's security. When he really is an assassin sent to off Gigi. Red, who experiences a surge of horniness around a certain time every month, is drawn to the tall handsome shifter and these two get busy before she can lower her suitcase to the ground! However, the question remains... where is Gigi?!
This book took off like rockets speed with the smut! I freakin' love it! These two scorched my Kindle and I found myself laughing out loud more than once and these two. The addition of other fairy tale characters was genius and quite clever. Brexley was smoking HOT and Red was so adorably odd with her weird piercings and funky look! Definitely not your traditional heroine.
This book has lots of sexy scenes that will satisfy the smut lovers. I cannot forget the "Full Moon" escapades and my god, I laughed so hard and found myself clutching my pearls with these two! The plot was engaging, the paranormal element was brilliant, and I just cannot say how much I enjoyed this story!
If you love fractured fairy tales, retellings, and hot primal smexy scenes, Read this book! Bravo, Ms. Roberds! I hope we see more of this type of work from you! Awesome read!
