fter seeing a lot of good reviews for this series, I decided to give it a go.
When I realised how young the main character was, it put me off initially as I was worried the writing would be too childish, boring, etc, for someone in their 30s. The book starts with Jason being only 5 and eventually to the present aged 11 so I was sceptical.
While it's a pretty far-fetched plot, it was entertainin and the family side of it (Jason's relationship with his father) was an emotional affair throughout.
I will say, though, that for books geared towards younger readers, it is very violent. I'm also not sure how I feel about the romance aspect of it, considering how young they are. It seems a bit weird that it's not more monitored or some talk not given. Which are reasons why I couldn't give it 5 stars.
I do plan on reading the rest of the series.
