“i’ve craved you from the moment i saw you, and i promised myself i’d carve that craving out of me. but the deeper i cut, the deeper you burrow. i’m afraid that if i don’t stop trying to rid myself of you, i’ll end up cutting out my own heart.”
this book started out strong, but lost itself along the way until the ending, which was good. i don’t know if it were the high expectations after book one or my enthusiasm about this couple, but i was a bit disappointed with it all. the pace slowed down drastically compared to the first installment and the middle of the story dragged with repetitive scenes. at one point, i forced myself to continue purely because of any possible cameos and crumbs of book 3. but overall, i’m glad i read this because the mmc was worth it. the fmc, however, made the reading experience unbearable at some points. i’m aware that she’s only 18 and naïve, but her character development could’ve been great, she had so much potential.
