The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods
slow-paced
2.5
‘The thing about books,’ she said, ‘is that they help you to imagine a life bigger and better than you could ever dream of.’
It’s such a shame that this book has such a beautiful writing style and a very promising premise, but it ends up with a very cheesy, boring romance story. Compared to the bookshop that is the selling point, the majority of this book only talks about romance and how the main characters keep on changing their heart from one person to another.
i appreciate and love the literature and historical event, i found it fascinating and i wish i could get more topics on this matter. i also love how complex the characters’ pasts are.
the pace is too slow and the plot is all over the place. until the point, i didn’t care about the characters and the storyline anymore.
