I began 2023 by reading Dark Rise, and now I have begun 2024 with its sequel. I dropped everything to ensure this parallel, actually, and I have no regrets. Dark Heir was even more phenomenal than its predecessor. The fantasy world was enthralling, and the dynamics between the characters were advanced further in a way that had me obsessed. Will and James were a turn of events that I couldn't have imagined, but their relationship was fresh and, personally, had me giggling and kicking my feet, for a lack of more eloquent description. I finished this book in two sittings and was only left wanting even more. I am looking forward to a third installment in the future. If Pacat was my fan, she'd surely release it around the beginning of 2025, but no rush.
