Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World by Cal Newport
3.0
Heard this author on a podcast and thought I'd check out the book, which is about the value of training yourself to focus in a world where it's very easy to be constantly scattered. That definitely applied to me--I believe at one point I was reading the book while doing two other things, like a walking advertisement.
It wasn't life-changing, since it was sort of telling me things I already knew/suspected, but it's light and perfectly practical. Although as with so many books of this type when the author talks about things that people might want to be really focusing on it often sounds terrible because it's always focused on business. It's also always satisfying to read someone talking about how, surprisingly no one, open office plans really suck.
