This may or may not be a temporary 2.5 stars.

I am putting this book down as our HAWKS prepare to leave for their mission. Unless there are some pretty enticing things about Sam, Joshua, or Amy hidden in these pages that I'll have to double back to... I am skipping this book.

I love the series, but I am just not invested in the space angle. It is very (Ripleys) alien/sci-fi.

I got through the second book, which was also in this style because I got all caught up in the Lovecraftian nature of the distorted humans, but I was not as drawn in on this book.
