oh gosh this is a fantastic book, especially for someone like me who's read the bible story! esther's story is one of my favourites, and this is a fantastic retelling! it really made think, because aside from the fantasy elements, some of what roxana went through might be exactly what happened to esther.
I am still dead over what happened to jayla and owen

roxana being the only one to return fully clothed
means something. like maybe
he respects her in a weird twisted way?

p182: I reckon the fairies that follow the traditions represent jewish believers, and characters like sergus who also pray represent gentile believers
p329: oh my gosh, this is totally how the order to kill all the fairies happens! i just knew
torgen had to be haman

p344: WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO US?? i don't know how to deal with this information. i am a shell
p352: no, please. tell me he didn't. there has to be a reasonable explanation
